Legal Counsel

Legal Counsel provides substantive advice and ad hoc support within the MOS Regional Delegation to the various internal clients in the Regional Delegation, as well as building up a full service to support and advise the Regional Delegation on relevant legal corporate issues. Function description: Provides legal corporate advice and support in all areas impacting the ICRC (HR, logistics, procurement, administration, operations, data protection, governance, fundraising, innovation, intellectual property, regulatory issues, etc.), with a specific focus on employment/contractual/compliance matters and any other corporate legal issues. Drafts, reviews and negotiates contracts for the ICRC in all areas needed, and drafts legal opinions. Advises in the context of the adoption of various types of documents (policies, memos, position papers, risk assessments, etc.). Performs independent research on and analysis of specific legal issues, as well as broader sectors of the national legal system. Follows and contributes to decision-making processes and internal procedures (particularly in the areas of compliance, information security and risk management). Represents the ICRC to judicial and administrative bodies for all matters pertaining to his/her areas of responsibility. Liaises with external counsel, supervises and manages inhouse legal adviser for corporate issues. Required skills: University degree in law. Minimum 3-5 years of professional experience in contract law, employment law, business law, administrative law. Field experience handling legal issues is a strong asset. Russian is a native language. Excellent command of English (B2-C1). Very good communication skills. Very good knowledge of political, social and cultural assigned environment. Terms and conditions: Open-ended contract. Monthly salary 175'000 - 180’000 RUB before taxes, 13th salary, medical insurance.
